Research interests

My current main research interest is in predictive processing across different animal species. Specifically, I am interested in how prediction errors are represented across brain regions. To this end, I am combining neural recordings from marmosets and drosophila with tools from information theory.
I am also interested in neural dynamics, how they can be characterised mathematically and how they might change during cognitive tasks. The particular neural dynamics I am interested in are a form of balance between ordered and disordered activity, termed criticality.
During my masters, I explored how these particular neural dynamics can be maintained using a balance of excitation and inhibition in zebrafish.
