Everyone knows that our bees are in trouble. Habitat destruction, pesticides and diseases have brought many species to the brink of extinction. Thankfully there is something everyone with access to any green space (whether it's a garden or a balcony) can do: to provide bees with the kinds of flowers, and also nesting sites, that they need to thrive. At the workshop, we will explain which flowers are useful for supporting a diversity of bee pollinators. We will also provide information about the kinds of pollinators that you might observe once your bee-friendly flowers are in bloom. You might even win a prize if you spot one of our number-tagged bumblebees that fan out over East London from the Queen Mary campus.
